There's no
such thing as the
crab witch, Wally.
But my
mom told me
about her!
She visits houses
at night, and sucks
up bad kids' souls
with her claw!
Mom only
says that to
scare you
into cleaning
your room.
it's
okay.
You were
gonna find
out sooner
or later
it's a
dead end!
we should
go back.
oh yeah?
if it's
really a
dead end,
how come
there's tire
tracks?
see, just across the
rock bridge... unnnf!!
the road
curves into a
spiral... hrk!
...and
then it...
hng!
...and then
it's supposed to
just stop.
but here's
where it gets
weird.
Andy from ninth grade
says he once saw Aunt Jo
driving a truckful of food
out there-- fruit, veggies,
flour and everything.
...and hours later,
she still hadn't
come back out.
she and her
truck stayed
up there the
whole night.
she finally
came back
the next day.
but the food
was gone. she
had unloaded
all of it.
What if
she's feeding
the witch?
No,
silly!
the trail
must lead
somewhere.
I heard that if
you shut your eyes
and walk perfectly
straight ahead...
...the path
unbends to
meet your
steps.
and if
you follow
it all the
way to the
end...
...it takes
you right off
the island.
nah, that's
too easy.
that can't
be all there
is to it.
tch! fine.
there
has to be
a trick.
something
that only the
adults know.
we've just
gotta figure out
what it is.
